There is isn't much difference between clean and green energy. Clean and Green energy both literally mean the same. There is really no strict definition that distinguishes these two terms. They can be used interchangeably. In that case, clean or green is any energy that is environmentally friendly, meaning they are produced and used in such a way that there is no pollution. Examples include: Solar, wind, tidal energy and geothermal. Renewable energy is a form of energy that can be produced forever without harming the environment i.e. they can be replenished. They include - Solar, wind, tidal energy and geothermal. Non renewable energy is an energy that cannot be replenished. Example- all fossil fuels like oil and coal. Source: |

Green energy refers to any energy source which does not pollute the environment. This would include how the energy is harvested, processed and used. Clean energy can also have the same meaning as Green energy, but more specifically, it is used to refer to energy which does not pollute the earth's atmosphere, especially with carbon dioxide. Renewable energy is not only both a Green and Clean energy, but once a system has been installed, it can be used over and over again. Two specific examples of this type would be solar and wind energy. |
