That's tricky. If you live near a large dam then i would say hydroelectric energy. It doesn't take much to build it and less money to keep it well. But if you don't and live in a house not near large renewable energy resources then solar energy will last you a good 15 or more years but its worth it. |

The cheapest renewable energy is hydroelectric energy. Wind energy is also fairly cheap, and as it has been the form of energy receiving the most research investment, the price continues to drop. Other forms of renewable energy, such as tidal and wave energy have the potential to be cheap, but significant research money will have to be invested to mature the technology and drive the prices down. |
