Global warming is the process by which various elements are introduced to the atmosphere which cause temperatures to increase, other wise known as the "greenhouse effect". Simply put, pollutants such as carbon dioxide, methane and other compounds effectively trap heat and light in our atmosphere allowing it to warm up. Typical greenhouses often use these techniques to increase the growth potential of their plants. There are a broad range of inputs that impact our environment, such as solar winds and the sun, but there is a demonstrated direct historical correlation between the increased carbon content in the atmosphere and increased global temperatures.

Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, water vapor, nitrous oxide, and methane) trap heat and light from the sun in the earth's atmosphere, like a blanket, which increases the temperature. This will affect many people, animals, and plants.

Global warming is a term which is used to describe the Earth's atmosphere's temperature increase in the recent decades. The cause of it is most commonly attributed to the continued emission of greenhouse gases from factories, which in-turn invoke the greenhouse effect The global temperature rise in the 20th century is usually given to be around 1.3 °F, with predictions for further increase. Scientists feel that global warming poses a great risk to the planet Earth, and if the emission of greenhouse gases is not controlled in the next few years then we can expect a permanent rise in temperatures.
