On average electric cars will use about .3 kilowatt-hours per mile using either A.C or D.C motor. Every mile will cost around 0.03 dollar compared to the gasoline price which is around 3 dollar per gallon and assuming your car gets 25 miles per gallon then the comparison stands as 0.12 dollar when gasoline is used.

The initial cost of electric car is much higher than a gasoline car however the maintenance and running cost of electric car is quite a bit less than the gasoline car. The recoupment of this cost varies depending upon millage i.e. the higher the millage the more you will save, but on average the additional cost can be recouped within two years of purhase.

Electric cars are an alternative fuel automobile that uses electric motors powered by a

battery in place of more common internal propulsion engines. The electric car is to be

more environmentally friendly and cheaper to maintain and run. There are two main

categories: the initial investment and the recurring cost. The initial investment would be

the price on the window. The recurring costs depends on how much a person drives.
